Saturday was a very difficult day to drive north and south in the Chicago area. It was almost like the Chicago area was being split in two by the weather since I-94 and I-294 were flooded. We had to drive through the flooding on I-294 and realize now why you should never drive through standing water on the roadway.
 
The rainy weather however gave way to a wonderful day around 11am and made the golf that day great. J. Wayne Franklin participated in his first tournament with America's Golf Tour and he took home the championship with a net one under par 71. He started his day out with five consecutive pars before bogeying three out of his last four outward holes.
 
Meanwhile Glen Flanagan started out poorly with a double bogey on the first but settled down and pared three out of the last fours holes to take a one shot lead after the outward nine. Glen quickly faltered on the back nine going double bogey, double bogey to start the back nine. He sealed his fate with his tee shot on the short par four fourteen that went OB ending in a triple bogey.
