Jim Stefanich Wins Final Tournament of 2010

THe day started with a thunderstorm and ended with a cold wind from the north cooling off the tempuratures but not Jim Stefanich. We were delayed 50 minutes because of a cell of thunderstorms that whipped through the area with heavey rain. It made Prairie Landing Golf Club's greens soft and easier for everyone to shoot at the pins.

Wayne Franklin played steady all day but couldn't put anything together to challenge Jim. Wayne ended the day with a one over net 73 for his effort. Jeff Vidlak had a horrible start to his day with a 10 on the first hole. However he didn't give up and came back with only four over the rest of the day for a two over net 74.

The day however belonged to Jim Stefanich who went out in a net 33 and finished it off with a net 35 in. Jim and Wayne will be participating in the upcoming Illinois Senior Open at Stonewall Orchard Golf Club on Sept. 27 & 28. When we have had our tournaments at Stonewall Orchard Golf Club Jim has always shot well and we expect him to do so again.

If you would like to see the best seniors in action along with two of our senior players make sure that you visit Stonewall Orchard. There is no charge to watch and I know that the players would appreciate you taking the time to watch them.

McDuffee Wins First Championship This Year!

This weekend was a tale of two days. On Saturday, day one it was very hot and humid. Keeping your hands dry was very tough. You definately needed a few gloves in your bag to keep the feel the same throughout the day. On Sunday the heet and humidity dropped a little but only because the wind picked up.

The wind picked up as the day went by and made selecting the right club harder and harder. Craig was the steddy one each day firing a net total for 148 good for 6 over par. Review the scores and optional game report to see how we fared this weekend.

Craig earns a five year exemption to go along with the money he won playing as a non-amateur. With an 8 handicap Craig had a terrible front nine both days but rebounded nicely on the back nine just like a Champion should do to win the tournament. The next time you see Craig make sure that you congradulate him.

Our next tour stop is Pine Meadow Classic. It is highly ranked in the state of IL and will be a good test of your skills. Come out and join us today.
